896. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is divided into 3 subtypes:-
- A. Predominant inattentive (10-20%).
- B. Predominant hyperactive/impulsive (5-10%).
- C. Combined inattentive & hyperactive (70-80%).
897. Methylphenidate, dextroamphetamine, atomoxetine, bupropion, clonidine, TCAs like desipramine, imipramine, and nortriptyline, risperidone, all are used to treat ADHD.
898. CNS stimulants like methylphenidate and amphetamine should not be used with MAOIs to avoid the hypertensive crisis.
899. Donepezil, rivastigmine, and galantamine are used to treat dementia.
900. Memantine is N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist is used to treat dementia.
